When and How to Access Your PTE Academic Results
PTE Academic results are typically available within 2–5 business days after your test. You’ll receive an email from Pearson with a link to your online account — no need to wait for a physical copy.
- Log in to your Pearson PTE account.
- Go to the “View Scores” section.
- Download your official score report as a PDF.
Results are released in batches throughout the day. If you haven’t received yours after 5 business days, check your spam folder or contact Pearson support.

Understanding Your PTE Academic Scorecard
Your scorecard shows an overall score (10–90) and four communicative skills scores: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing. Each skill is scored 10–90. The overall score is an average of the four skills.
Key sections on the scorecard:
- Overall Score – Your total performance.
- Communicative Skills – Individual scores for listening, reading, speaking, writing.
- Enabling Skills – Optional breakdown of grammar, fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, and written discourse. These help identify strengths and weaknesses.
There is no pass/fail. Each institution or visa body sets its own minimum score. For example, many Australian universities require an overall 50–65, while skilled migration points may need 65+.
What to Do After Receiving Your Result
1. Check institution or visa requirements
Verify the minimum overall and skill scores for your target university or immigration authority. If you meet them, send your score report directly through the Pearson portal.
2. Send scores to institutions
- Log in to your account.
- Select “Send Scores.”
- Add the institution code or name. You can send to multiple recipients.
3. If your score is lower than needed
Don’t panic. You can retake the test after 5 days. Use your scorecard’s enabling skills to pinpoint weak areas — low pronunciation? Low grammar? Focus your preparation there.

Common PTE Result Scenarios
- Score on hold – Rare but possible if Pearson needs to verify identity or test conditions. Contact support after 7 days.
- Score not showing – Ensure you completed all sections. If you missed a section, you may not get a score.
- Discrepancy – You can request a rescore within 14 days (fee applies).
PTE Academic Results for Immigration 2026
For Australian, UK, or New Zealand visas, your PTE score must meet the specific visa subclass requirements. Always check the official immigration website — cutoffs can change. As of early 2026, typical skilled migration requires at least 65 overall with no skill below 50, but verify on the official portal.
