TOPIK I Mock Test

TOPIK I is your foundation. Level 1 (≥80) means you can handle basic survival Korean. Level 2 (≥140) opens EPS-TOPIK eligibility, King Sejong Institute scholarships, and gives you proof of an A2-equivalent base before you push for TOPIK II.

Practise the full TOPIK I online. Our mock tests replicate the exact structure, timing, and question types of the official exam — Listening (듣기) and Reading (읽기), 100 minutes total. Know exactly where you stand before you book your official TOPIK slot at KCC India.

Who needs TOPIK I?

EPS-TOPIK industrial workers

Workers entering Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) must pass the EPS-TOPIK test — a separate exam, but TOPIK I prep is the perfect foundation.

First-time Korean learners

Anyone completing a King Sejong Institute beginner course or a Korean major foundation year — TOPIK I confirms you have a functional A1/A2 base.

K-pop & K-drama enthusiasts

TOPIK I is a satisfying first goal for fans who have learned Hangul and want a recognised certificate before pushing toward TOPIK II fluency.

University foundation requirement

Some Indian Korean-studies programmes (JNU, Delhi University, EFLU) expect TOPIK I before entry into intermediate courses or exchange programmes.

Frequently asked — TOPIK I

Is TOPIK I the same as EPS-TOPIK?

No. They are two distinct exams. Regular TOPIK I is an academic/general beginner Korean proficiency test administered by NIIED. EPS-TOPIK is a separate entry exam run under the Employment Permit System programme for industrial workers heading to Korean factories. They have different formats, vocabulary scopes, and registration channels — but TOPIK I preparation is excellent foundation for EPS-TOPIK.

How long does it take to prepare for TOPIK I from zero?

Starting with Hangul, most learners reach TOPIK I Level 1 in 3–4 months of focused study (1 hour daily). Level 2 typically needs 6–9 months. Indian learners who already know basic Hangul from K-content can compress this further.

What is the TOPIK I exam fee in India?

TOPIK I fees in India are typically ₹4,000–₹4,500 per sitting at the Korean Cultural Centre India (KCC India). Fees are paid via the official registration portal — see our TOPIK Exam Fees in India guide for current rates.

Can I take TOPIK I from home in India?

No. TOPIK is an offline paper-based exam. You must travel to an authorised centre — KCC India (Delhi) is the main venue, with occasional sittings in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai through King Sejong Institute partner venues.

Should I skip TOPIK I and go straight to TOPIK II?

If your target is GKS scholarship or a Korean university (which require Level 3+), you can skip TOPIK I and sit only TOPIK II. However, TOPIK I is a useful confidence-builder and proof-point for K-content learners, K-pop fans, and EPS-TOPIK preparation.

How long is a TOPIK I certificate valid?

TOPIK certificates are valid for 2 years from the result publication date. Plan your university or visa application within that window, or re-sit closer to your application date.

What is the pass mark for TOPIK I?

There is no single 'pass' mark. Score 80 or more (out of 200) and you receive Level 1. Score 140 or more and you receive Level 2. Below 80 means no level is awarded for that sitting.
