Each component is graded separately and earns a deelcertificaat — four of them together make the NT2 diploma. A component you fail is retaken on its own.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between NT2 Programma I and II?
Programma I is B1, intended for mbo study and work at mbo level. Programma II is B2, intended for hbo, university and professional-level work. Programma II sits a full CEFR level higher.
Is the inburgering exam the same as the Staatsexamen NT2?
At B1 and B2 level, yes — under the Wet inburgering 2021 those are the same exams. Only the A2 language exam is a separate DUO product. KNM is separate from both.
How many points do I need to pass?
500 per component. Each one counts separately, so if you pass three of the four you only retake the one you missed — the others stay valid as deelcertificaten.
Are writing and speaking actually graded?
Yes. You write and speak as you would in the real exam, and the AI grades content, vocabulary and grammar, giving an indicative score per component. It's a practice result, not an official DUO outcome.
How much does the real exam cost?
€50 per component, so €200 for the complete Staatsexamen NT2. For integration it's €50 per language exam plus €50 for KNM.
