BJT Business Japanese Mock Test

BJT is a huge edge on the HSP visa points sheet — and the corporate-Japanese signal recruiters trust. Grades J3, J2, and J1 add 20, 30, and 40 points respectively to your Highly Skilled Professional visa application — fast-tracking permanent residence in Japan.

Practise the full BJT (ビジネス日本語能力テスト) online. Our mocks mirror the JETRO-administered exam format — ~120 minutes of multiple-choice listening, listening + reading hybrid items, and pure reading scored on a continuous 0–800 scale. AI scoring tells you whether you would land J3, J2, or J1 today.

~120 min Score 0–800 HSP points booster

BJT exam format — listening, hybrid & reading

BJT is uniquely scored on a continuous 0–800 scale rather than a pass/fail line — your score maps to a grade (J5 → J1+). It includes a hybrid listening + reading section not found in JLPT, which mirrors real-world business situations like reviewing a chart while a colleague explains it.

聴解 (Listening)

~45 min · 3 parts

Workplace conversations, telephone calls, customer dialogues, and internal-meeting exchanges. Tests fast comprehension of business situations.

聴読解 (Listening + Reading)

~30 min · 2 parts

Hybrid items where you listen and read business documents (charts, schedules, emails, memos) simultaneously to extract decisions and next steps.

読解 (Reading)

~45 min · 3 parts

Business documents, internal reports, contracts excerpts, and trade-press articles. Tests business-Japanese vocabulary and decision-making comprehension.

How to position BJT alongside JLPT N2/N1 on Japanese-corporate CVs

Who needs the BJT?

HSP visa points stackers

BJT is the most direct way to add up to 40 points to your Highly Skilled Professional visa score — often more efficient than chasing JLPT N1 alone.

Corporate Japanese-firm employees

Japanese trading houses (商社), banks, and Fortune-500 subsidiaries in India use BJT to grade business-Japanese readiness for client-facing roles.

Sales, BD & consulting roles in Japan

Where JLPT measures general academic fluency, BJT measures the specific business-Japanese reflexes recruiters need from sales, BD, and consulting hires.

Permanent residence fast-trackers

BJT J1 + a strong CV often unlocks the 80-point HSP track — fast-tracking permanent residence in Japan to as little as one year.

Frequently asked — BJT

BJT vs JLPT N2/N1 — which should I take first?

JLPT measures general Japanese proficiency; BJT measures business-Japanese reflexes (client emails, sales calls, meeting comprehension). Most Indian candidates clear JLPT N2 first, then sit BJT to add HSP visa points and corporate hiring signal. If your goal is a Japanese trading house, bank, or large MNC role — N2 + BJT J2 is the high-leverage combination.

Does the BJT certificate expire?

The BJT score has lifetime validity. However, since the test measures current business-Japanese ability, employers and HSP visa officers may prefer scores from within the last 5 years — particularly for J1/J1+ claims.

How often is the BJT held in India?

BJT in India is typically held twice or three times a year through JETRO partner centres in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Some sittings are also computer-based at IBT (Internet-Based Test) centres on flexible dates. Check the official JETRO BJT site for the current India schedule.

What HSP visa points does BJT add?

BJT J1 (600+) and J1+ (700+) add 40 points to the HSP visa scoring sheet — equivalent to JLPT N1. J2 adds 30 points and J3 adds 20 points. For Indian engineers who already have JLPT N2, taking BJT to score J2 or J1 is often the fastest path to the 70 or 80-point HSP threshold for permanent residence fast-track.

How long does it take to prepare for BJT J2 or J1?

If you already hold JLPT N2, expect 3–6 months of business-Japanese-specific preparation (meeting comprehension, keigo polish, business-document reading) to target J2. For J1, plan 6–12 months from JLPT N2 base, or 3–6 months if you hold N1. Mock tests are essential — BJT's hybrid listening + reading section is not tested anywhere else.
