Do Naver / Coupang interviews happen in Korean?
Technical interviews are often in English (especially for backend / ML roles). However, the behavioural / culture-fit rounds frequently switch to Korean for non-junior positions. What is the realistic Korean level for a senior IC role at a Korean tech firm?
TOPIK Level 4 is the realistic 'comfortable senior IC' level for most Korean tech employers. Level 5 unlocks staff / principal tracks. Level 3 is the entry minimum that lets you survive day-to-day standups and read internal wikis without translation tools.
Are there Korean tech roles for Indians without any Korean?
Yes — especially in Samsung India, LG India, Hyundai's Indian tech arms, and Bangalore-based product teams of Coupang / Naver-affiliates. But these caps out around 3 years of growth before Korean becomes a soft requirement for the next promotion.
