General Eligibility
HSK 5 has no formal eligibility prerequisites. There is no minimum education requirement, no age limit, and no nationality restriction. Anyone, regardless of background, can register.

- Education: No degree, diploma, or coursework required.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities, including Chinese nationals.
Special Rules for Chinese Nationals
Chinese citizens can take HSK 5, but the test is primarily designed for non-native speakers. If you are a native Chinese speaker, the result may not carry the same weight for academic or immigration purposes. Some Chinese universities may require non-native speakers to submit HSK scores, while native speakers use Gaokao results. Confirm with the institution you’re applying to.
Test-Takers with Disabilities
HSK test centres accommodate candidates with disabilities. Accommodations may include extended time, large-print papers, or assistive technology. You must apply for special arrangements at least 30 days before the test date. Contact your chosen test centre directly — procedures vary by location.

Retake Policy
You can retake HSK 5 as many times as you want. There is no waiting period between attempts. Scores are valid for two years from the test date. If your score expires, you must retake the test.
