TOEIC Speaking: Task-by-Task Breakdown
- Read a text aloud (Tasks 1–2): Graded on pronunciation and intonation. Speak clearly; do not rush.
- Describe a picture (Task 3): Speak for 45 seconds about a photograph. Cover who/what/where/action. Use present continuous (“A woman is writing…”).
- Respond to questions (Tasks 4–6): Answer 3 questions about a situation without preparation time (Tasks 4–5) or with 3 seconds of prep (Task 6). Be direct and complete.
- Respond to questions using information provided (Tasks 7–9): You receive a document (schedule, survey) and must answer questions based on it.
- Propose a solution (Task 10): Listen to a problem and propose a solution. Structure: acknowledge the problem → state your solution → explain why.
- Express an opinion (Task 11): 60-second argument. Structure: clear position → 2 reasons with examples → restate position.
TOEIC Writing: Task-by-Task Breakdown
- Write a sentence based on a picture (Tasks 1–5): Write one grammatically correct sentence describing a photo using two given words.
- Respond to a written request (Tasks 6–7): Write a reply to an email in 10 minutes. Address ALL points raised. Formal register.
- Write an opinion essay (Task 8): 300-word opinion essay in 30 minutes. Follow: intro (claim) → body paragraph 1 (reason + example) → body paragraph 2 (reason + example) → conclusion.
