Task 1 – Analytical Synthesis Text (~300 Words)
Task 1 provides 2–3 pieces of stimulus material — short texts, data, or quotations — on a complex topic and asks you to produce an analytical text that synthesises, evaluates, or responds to the material. At C2 level, synthesis does not mean summarising each source in turn; it means integrating the perspectives into a coherent analytical argument, identifying agreements and tensions between sources, and arriving at a reasoned conclusion.
