The CAPLE exam format is set by the University of Lisbon and runs across five certificates, one per CEFR level. Knowing the structure is the first step to a confident pass.
The five CAPLE exams
- CIPLE – A2 · DEPLE – B1 · DIPLE – B2 · DAPLE – C1 · DUPLE – C2
The skills tested
Each level assesses reading (compreensão da leitura), listening (compreensão do oral), writing (produção escrita) and speaking (produção oral), with grammar and structures woven through the paper.
How CAPLE is scored
Skills are assessed and you need a sufficient overall result, so no single weak section should pull you under. Practising each part in the real format under timed conditions is the surest route.
